Where should I store my Crystal-Clear Products?
Store you Crystal Clear spa products away from direct sunlight and heat, ideally in a cool dark place or best of all the door of your fridge, do not freeze.
What is a filter sleeve?
A filter sleeve is tied onto your cartridge filter to enhance water quality and helps capture organic waste before it enters your spas filter making the task of filter maintenance much simpler.
Do I need a Sanitiser?
We recommend that everyone uses a sanitiser alongside our products however we understand that some people do not wish to for a variety of reasons – chemical sensitivity, respiratory issues, overall health
I’m using rainwater, do I still need to use a Pre-filter?
No, a Pre-filter is not required for spas that are to be filled with rainwater, however you will need to check the pH a little more frequently as the pH of rain water is lower than standard city tap water.
How long does a Crystal Clear Spas Pre-filter last?
To ensure trouble free spa water maintenance Crystal Clear Spas Pre-filters should be replaced after 1900L of water filtering.
At what temperatures does Crystal Clear Spas work?
Crystal Clear Spas Spa Drops works in the same temperature range as seen in the settings of your spa, however, our products work much more efficiently in warmer temperatures.
Is Crystal Clear Spas compatible with traditional spa chemicals?
Our products are compatible with chlorine, bromine, hydrogen peroxide and lithium, and can be used alongside these products (if desired) as a way of lowering overall spa water maintenance, reducing chemical consumption and spa chemical by-products. Please be aware that Crystal Clear Spas is NOT compatible with biguanide-based chlorine free spa products.
For how many hours a day should my spa’s filtration system run?
We recommend your spa’s filtration system run for 4-6 hours a day to achieve optimum spa water quality.
How does Crystal Clear Spas affect my spa’s plumbing and parts?
Our natural spa product will contribute less wear and tear than chemical-based spa maintenance systems.
Can I use Crystal Clear Spas if my spa is fitted with an ozonator, ionizer or UV light?
Yes, Crystal Clear Spas is compatible and safe to use with any of these alternative sanitizers.
What pH range does Crystal Clear Spas work in?
Unlike other spa chemicals Crystal Clear Spas works in a broader pH range. Please ensure your chemical free spa water is stable between 7.6 and 8.2. If you need to adjust your spa’s pH we have products available. Spa water pH can also be adjusted up with bi-carbonate of soda (bicarb) and lowered with white vinegar if you prefer.
Do I need to check total alkalinity and calcium hardness?
No, the Crystal Clear Spas natural spa system only requires you to maintain correct pH levels. *New spa owners please carefully check your spa’s warranty as it can be affected if certain levels are not maintained. Please contact us if you have any questions regarding this.
Can I use aromatherapy products with Crystal Clear Spas?
Yes, we only recommend Sparoma Spa Crystals be used with our chemical free Crystal Clear Spas Spa System. Spazazz leads the industry in aromatherapy spa products and has been tested and safe for all hot tubs and jetted baths. These all natural blends of sensual aromas and moisturizing botanicals are spa-safe and oil-free, so they will not affect a hot tub’s pH balance nor leave any oily residue behind. What should I use to clean my spa cover with?
Crystal Clear Spas recommends using 50 drops of our all-natural Spa Drops in 2 litres of warm water with a microfibre cloth to clean the inside and outside of your spa’s cover. For particularly dirty covers you may need to repeat this process a few times.
Should I empty my spa before switching to Crystal Clear Spas?
No, please retain the old spa water for the purpose of purging your spa’s internal system using our Spa Cleanse product, regardless of condition.
Can I use my spa during the purging process?
Yes certainly! There is nothing toxic in our all-natural Spa Cleanse so start enjoying your spa straight away. You may experience excessive foaming during this cleansing period but this will dissipate before it’s time to empty your spa.
How often should I change my water?
We recommend a water change every 6 months for spas under 1200 litres, and for larger spas we recommend every 9-12 months. Remember to add 60ml of Crystal Clear Spas Spa Cleanse for 1 day, run your spa’s jets for 1-2 hrs before emptying and ensure you have a new Pre-filter. Pre-filters should be disposed of after 1900 litres of water has passed through them. Remember Crystal Clear Spas is all natural, so why not give your plants and lawn a well earned drink with the water you drain from your spa? Is it approved?
Crystal Clear Spas is NOT a spa water sanitiser and therefore approval by the AVMPA (Australia Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority) for use as a spa and pool water sanitiser has not been sought. Crystal Clear Spas is based on bioremediation principles and offers an alternative method of maintaining healthy spa water that does not rely on sanitisation.
